Greece 0-2 Argentina
Even with the sitdowns, the likes of lionel Messi, Diego Milito and Aguero up front and Bolatti, Rodriguez and Veron in the midfield, made Argentina the clear favourites to win and top the group with 9 points.
Greece needed a draw at the least to have any hopes of going through to the next round, so they started of with a very defensive line-up playing 3 centre backs and 2 defensive midfielders.
Argentina dominated from the word go and had most of the possession. The Greeks kept absorbing wave after wave of Argentina's attacks. The Greek goalie Tzorvas pulled out some spectacular saves and with almost nine Greek players defending at times, Argentina couldnt find their way through.
Greece also had a few chances on the counter, but Samaras couldnt convert them into goals.
Argentina kept their composure and finally Demichelis broke the deadlock with a close range volley. Messi came close on many occasion but was denied by the post once and the heroic efforts of Tzorvas.
Martin Palermo scored the second Argentine goal and that goal sealed the deal for Argentina.

At the exit of a corner, the said picked up the ball after himself and handed out literally by force and power to a defender, then another and put the area in search of a leg friend. The Jonathan Mensah, who fired to first. The ball, with direction to the network ran into the hand of Kewell, who served as keeper at the far post. Penalty and expulsion. Asamoah Gyan no mistake, as it did against Serbia, and put the tie. 13 mins GOAL Slovenia 1-0 USA (Birsa)
You want top-quality goals scored from outside the box? Then have some of this. Slovenia’s decent start becomes a stunning one as Valter Birsa collects the ball 25 yards out in space and curls a glorious left-foot shot into the left-hand corner of Tim Howard’s net. The Everton keeper didn’t even move. As it stands, Slovenia are in the last 16.
42 mins GOAL Slovenia 2-0 USA
Football can be such a cruel game. Just as USA think they are getting back into it, Slovenia go up the other end and double their lead. Miso Brecko starts the move and Zlatan Ljubijankic finishes it by coolly slotting past Tim Howard after Milivoje Novakovic’s perfectly-timed pass.
48 mins GOAL Slovenia 2-1 USA
Horrible defending, fabulous finish. A USA ball over the top down the right catches Bostjan Cesar out as he slips and suddenly Landon Donovan is moving through on goal. Cutting in from the right he looks for a pass but there isn’t one, so he lashes a shot from an angle into the roof of the Slovene net. Now we’ve got a game on.
82 mins GOAL Slovenia 2-2 USA
Some USA fans are in tears because they are back in the World Cup. A ball is pumped into the Slovenia area from halfway on the right and Jozy Altidore gets up well inside the area to nod the ball down – the Slovene defence has gone missing and Michael Bradley has timed his run to perfection, on the slide poking high into the net. Great goal, great game, great World Cup.

World Cup 2010... Teams Ranked
The FIFA World Cup. The biggest sporting event on the entire plant. Millions tune it to cheer on their country every four years. 32 countries each with 23 men that carry the hopes of their entire nation. But only one country will come away will the coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy and be crowned "Champions of the World". Lets look at predictions for this years World Cup.
1. Spain- With so many superstars on the squad and the current form of the team it seems Spain are the favorites to win the World Cup. Once Cesc Fabregas recovers from injury the squad will look almost unbeatable on paper... but games are never won on paper and another team may pull a surprise upset against Spain.
2. Brazil- Also with an impressive squad, Brazil could also very well claim the trophy. Goalkeeper Julio Cesar has been in incredible form and won the Champions League and Serie A title with fellow Brazillian teammates Maicon and Lucio.
3. Netherlands- A recent smashing of Hungary (6-1) shows why the Netherlands are such a good team. However star player Arjen Robben was injured in that friendly with Hungary and may not be able to play in the tournament.
4. England- Always a force to be reckoned with, England are looking to take the title this year. However injuries have been ever present in the England squad, most recently defender Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out. Star striker Wayne Rooney, however, has been excellent for his club, Manchester United, scoring 26 goals in the season and possibly more if it weren't for the injury he sustained during the end of the season.
5. Italy- Italy won the World Cup in 2006 and want to defend that title. However, they have been unconvincing in international friendly warm-up games. They lost to Mexico 2-1 and drew with Switzerland 1-1.
6. Germany- Recently won a 3-1 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina and looked to win more games during the Cup.
7. Argentina- Argentina has one one of the best players in the World if not the best player in the world, Lionel Messi. However, they nearly did not qualify for the World Cup with unconvincing displays in their qualifiers.
8. USA- Matched up with England in their first match of the tournament the USA look to upset again like in 1950 beating England 1-0. Bob Bradley's men have been looking in good form recently and even when fielding a weakened squad against Australia in their last warm-up before the tournament, still managed a 3-1 victory over the socceroos.
9. Portugal- Also with one of the best players in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal look to win the cup even after barely qualifying.
10. Mexico- Dominated in their warm-up game against Italy and got a deserved 2-1 victory.
